Guidlines for Funerals & Memorials

Day 26 - November 6, 2021

Funerals here happen very quickly. Literally the day after death the family member is buried and the service is held. However, for a memorial service you can only have it on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, or 11th day after the death. You cannot have the memorial on an even numbered day. Such is the tradition. Last week I mentioned that a family member of my host passed away. His funeral was held the very next day but his memorial will be held tomorrow.
