Let Me Explain...

I have lived all over the southern United States. I went to college at the University of Mobile in pursuit of a degree in Intercultural Studies. Along the way I traveled to India, Mexico, Dominican Republic, France, the Bahamas, and Cuba where my family is from. As I traveled, I photographed each trip on my Canon Rebel T5 and quickly turned a hobby into a business. Photography is an outlet for me to celebrate my biggest passion...people! I live for new experiences, conversations, and interactions which is why I am always looking to meet new people and hear their stories. The most important thing in the world to me is my family, the one I was born into and the ones I have chosen.

Why Captured My Attention?

Way back when (2016), I was headed on my 4th trip to India and before I went I bought a camera. The price was right and I cha-chinged my way into a Canon Rebel T5 with a kit lens. Winning! What I thought was going to be just grabbing a few shots of my trip turned into so much more. Everywhere I turned there was something new capturing my attention and I took sooo many photos. But they weren't just photos. Each image had a memory attached to it; a story. I could see raw emotion in the eyes of people who I hadn't taken the time to notice in the moment and it started to pull at my heart. I was able to freeze a moment in time. Anything that Captured My Attention, I could now hold on to for longer than that one fleeting moment. I could look back on my day and see the faces of the people I had spoken with and hear their stories all over again. I was awestruck.

You might be awestruck too after you see the photos that inspired me (especially compared to how far I've come. DANG!)

Some of my very first photos in 2016 that eventually led to the start of Captured My Attention Photography.

Photos from my last trip to India in 2024.

What started as a few photos exploded into a business originally called Captured My Attention, but has now transitioned into Alexis Grace Photography. The awe and wonder did not stop on that trip; it continues with each person I meet, every photo taken, and all the galleries sent. Life, your life-my life-people's lives, are all uniquely different. I love being able to savor the moments and memories that comes with each new photo taken and story told.

Almost Done...

Whew! You made it this far! That must mean that you have something to share with me. One sided conversations are no fun so tell me about you! What are your passions? What is your lifestyle? Who are the people that make your life worthwhile? I want to know and I want to be there with you as you go through each new milestone. I want to be a part of your journey, wherever it takes you. Let's document it together! Are you ready? Come share with me the moments that have captured your attention.

XOXO -Alexis
